Problem I usually have is my 4K HDR movies don't play well Plex-Roku TV when AAC 6.1/7.1 tracks are used (movie starts transcoding to 1080p SDR), so I just download the Master Audio and mux in a transparent OPUS 2.0 track and my 4k HDR movies play just fine. I've been using Opus to create a Stereo track from Master Audio for my movies.Plays from my Plex server to my Roku TV no problems.I use 160kpbs. Google didnt help, just provided me with more evidence why it is a good codec. I am encoding my whole collection now and want to get that question out of my way before I completly convert everything to Opus. Is it just because some players cant play them? I mean I use VLC on Pc´s and Mobile and use Kodi on any device in my house that is hooked up to a tv. I would never ever encode a DTS track with AC3/AAC/MP3 again.Īre my ears f´d? The quallity of opus is amazing and still it uses less bitrate than any other of the mentioned. I tried it myself and got some remuxes and encoded the DTS tracks with AC3/MP3/Opus/AAC. But I dont have a home theater so opus is fine for me. Selecting a region changes the language and/or content on anyone provide me with information why the opus codec is not used more often?
